What accommodations does Antiche Famiglie Toscane offer?
We offer holiday accommodations on our two family farms near Siena, Cavaglioni and Palazzo di Piero, and at our villa on the Tuscan coast, Casamora. Options range from a bed & breakfast to self-catering farmhouses, apartments and a historic castle, for couples, families and large groups.
Where are your properties located?
Cavaglioni is in San Rocco a Pilli (Sovicille), about 10 km from Siena; Palazzo di Piero is in Sarteano (Siena), in the heart of the Etruscan lands; and Casamora is on the Tuscan seaside at Riva del Sole, Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto).
How far are the farms from Siena?
The Cavaglioni farm is about 10 km (roughly 10-15 minutes by car) from the centre of Siena, an ideal base to visit the whole of Tuscany. Palazzo di Piero is in the Siena province near Sarteano, in southern Tuscany.
What can I stay in at the Cavaglioni farm?
At Cavaglioni you can stay at the Cavaglioni Mansion Bed & Breakfast, with its natural swimming pool (biopool), or in the self-catering Serravalle Farmhouse or the Tower of the Colombaio. The farm is right in front of our restaurant, L’Ocio Giulivo.
What can I stay in at Palazzo di Piero?
At Palazzo di Piero you can rent the Castle of Palazzo di Piero (called “Il Palazzo” by locals), with many bedrooms and space for large groups, plus the Santa Elisabetta, San Bernardo, Bachiarro and San Pietro farmhouses and the San Bernardino apartment.
Tell me about Casamora, the seaside villa.
Casamora is a villa on the Tuscan coast at Castiglione della Pescaia, just 15 metres from the shore, with its own private pinewood. It is ideal for a beach holiday in Maremma while staying close to the countryside and hill towns of Tuscany.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes. The Cavaglioni Mansion B&B has a natural swimming pool (biopool), chemical-free and integrated into the Tuscan landscape. Several other properties also offer pools; details are on each accommodation page.
Are the accommodations suitable for large groups?
Yes. The Castle of Palazzo di Piero and several farmhouses are designed for large groups, with 10 or more bed places, making them ideal for family reunions, groups of friends and celebrations.
Are the accommodations self-catering?
Most of our farmhouses, apartments and villas are self-catering, so you can cook and live at your own pace. The Cavaglioni Mansion is run as a bed & breakfast. You can also dine at our restaurant L’Ocio Giulivo.
Do you host weddings and events?
Yes. Our estates, and in particular the Castle of Palazzo di Piero, are wonderful settings for weddings, receptions and private events. Please contact us to plan your event.
Is there a restaurant on site?
Yes. At Cavaglioni, right in front of the B&B, is our agri-restaurant and natural wine bar L’Ocio Giulivo, serving Tuscan country cuisine with goose, game, truffle and our own natural wines.
Are these organic farms? Can I taste your wines and olive oil?
Yes, Cavaglioni and Palazzo di Piero are organic family farms of the Galeotti Ottieri della Ciaja and Galli family. We produce natural wines and extra virgin olive oil, which guests can taste and buy during their stay.
Are the accommodations good for families with children?
Yes. The farms offer plenty of outdoor space, swimming pools and a peaceful countryside setting, making them ideal for families. The seaside villa Casamora is perfect for a family beach holiday.
What activities can I enjoy during my stay?
Guests can relax by the pools, explore the Tuscan countryside and hill towns, visit Siena and the Etruscan sites near Sarteano, enjoy wine and olive oil tastings, and dine at L’Ocio Giulivo. The Maremma coast and beaches are within reach from Casamora.
